Didcot Railway Centre Transport Rally
Following on from their successful first Transport Rally in 2015 held in conjunction with Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust, Didcot Railway Centre is holding their second Rally on Sunday 5th June 2016.
The event is integral with Didcot Railway Centre where the usual railway related operations and exhibits will be available, plus some additional activities.
It is hoped to use the same car park for the event again, but, if development has commenced, Didcot Town Football Club is allowing DRC to hold the Rally in their car park. If this is the case, there will be NO visitor car parking at the Rally site but there will be free Vintage bus rides (courtesy of Thames Valley &Great Western Omnibus Trust) from the front of Didcot Parkway station and also from the temporary Car Park provided by Great Western Railway/APCOA.
Expected exhibits to include:
- A wide variety of Bus, Coach and commercial vehicles including various WW2 vehicles
- Various car exhibits
- Stationary Engines
- Sales related stands
- Trains operating all day at the Railway Centre
A spokesman for Didcot Railway Centre told CMM: We hope to have a 1940's feel to this year's Rally both at the Rally site and at the Railway Centre.
There will be catering and toilets available at the Rally site. All the above are subject to confirmation, and updates will be provided as exhibits are confirmed. The admission price for the Rally includes free access to Didcot Railway Centre.
"Anyone wishing to exhibit or have a sales stand please complete the form available on our website (www.didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk/events/galas.html) and send it to Roger Orchard, Didcot Railway Centre, Station Road, Didcot, Oxfordshire, OX11 7NJ, or email us at: email@example.com"
