Classic Torque - STOLEN!
Dear CMM
I am circulating details of the theft of my Cortina Lotus Mk2 which was stolen in Herefordshire. Anything you can do to raise the awareness of the theft would be very much appreciated.
STOLEN: Cortina Lotus Mk2 (Series1) … together with a Brian James Clubman 1400 trailer.
Reg: SMP 505F August 1967 Colour: White/Green
Stolen From: Kington, Herefordshire HR5 between Tuesday 12th and Sunday 24th January. There has been a reported sighting near Leominster on Thursday 21st.
In the standard White / Green colour scheme, SMP 505F is fitted with Minilite style wheels with little used Debica tyres. The car was owned to be driven and not just for show, so in my opinion is not perfect, but still managed a Highly Commended Mk2 award at the 2013 Brands Hatch 50th Anniversary / LCR National Day. Whilst the car has many unique identifying features, the paint does have some blistering and marks and the bumpers could benefit from re-chroming. An unusual feature is that it is fitted with 1600E seats which are very different to those of the Lotus. The engine has a polished cam cover, Janspeed exhaust manifold and stainless steel exhaust. An air filter box is not fitted.
I have owned the car for 27 years, so it holds great sentimental value for the whole family. Anyone with any information or suspicions that the car, or parts of it, are being offered are asked to please contact me or the Police.
Thank you.
