EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...SANDWELL HISTORIC VEHICLE SHOW, planned for this Sunday (May 13) has been postponed to Sunday, June 24 because the West Bromwich showground is waterlogged. A show spokesman said: ""It is bitterly disappointing, but we have been beaten by the weather.We have to be realistic and with the weather we are having the showground would have quickly been turned into a muddy mess which would have spoilt the show for everyone.This is one of the flagship events in the Sandwell calendar so we have moved quickly to re-schedule it for June when hopefully we will have warmer weather which will be better for everyone." - you can read more here...

EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...SUNDAY'S SHOW AT Battlesbridge Antiques Centre (May 6) in Essex has fallen foul of the wet weather. An event spokesman told CMM: "For the first time in 25 years we have no option but to cancel a show. The fields are waterlogged and without a warm and sunny outlook for the next three days we have had to make this decision. Please spread the word and check back to our website regularly for up to date information on our forthcoming events."

EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...THIS WEEKEND'S CLASSIC SHOW AT WOBURN ABBEY (May 5/6) has also fallen victim to the recent torrential rain in the region. Faced with already heavily waterlogged ground and the prospect of more rain to come, Greenwood Exhibitions’ event director Stephen Smith had no option but to pull the plug on the popular show. Stephen explained: ‘It is such a disappointment for everyone but our first duties are to the classic car owners and the venue itself. We just cannot risk damaging the cars if they bog down in the soft ground, and we certainly do not want to damage the Park, so the hard decision has been made and we will take much of the show, including the Concours Competition, forward to the Fathers’ Classic Day Out car show at Woburn on Sunday 17th June. It will make the June show even bigger and better than we had already planned.’
‘Classic car owners who have purchased a vehicle entry pass for this weekend at Woburn will be able to use it for entry to the June event at Woburn or to the Classic Car Rally at Old Warden Park on Sunday 20th May.’ Call 01527 863770 for details or see www.classicmotorevents.co.uk

EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...EVENTS LATEST...RAIN AGAIN; THE RALLY, scheduled for Monday May 7th at Gawsworth Hall has been postponed to Saturday 16th June. The rally field, says organiser Frank Smith: "...is now a large (duck) pond and goodness knows when it will recover! Geoff Price told CMM: "Catton Hall is like a quagmire, it's just in a very bad, flooded condition. We've had to come to a decision and it's now postponed until Sunday August 19."
